Project Description

This kitchen began with a terribly inefficient layout.  The homeowners wanted an island, more storage space and to improve their mudroom which housed the laundry machines.  We did it!  We improved the layout by first relocating an ill placed doorway from kitchen to mudroom.  By reducing the larger opening and relocating it, we added much needed wall space within the kitchen to house a proper cooking area.  The peninsula was replaced with a large island for storage and seating.  The earthy look of wood floors was achieved with porcelain tile laid in planks.  The maple cabinetry keeps the kitchen decor warm, yet the more fair tone of the maple provides a lightness kitchen. The cabinets are then topped with Golden Jade granite with a glass tile backsplash and accent tile. Overall a node to the industrial look, and an inviting space to enjoy with family and friends – and a lot of them at that!
