Not only are walk-in showers perfect for active families, but it is also a great feature for aging in place, as many of our active senior clients wish to do. These homeowners elected to eliminate their bathtub in favor of an enlarged walk-in shower. This particular project highlights storage within the shower via a niche, and a teak shower seat that can fold away when not needed. The low curb on the shower entry is easier to step over than climbing in a tub. Additionally, if necessary, a wheelchair could traverse the short curb with ease. The low curb and grab bar, along with the very stable seat, are indeed safety features. All of this while being beautifully appointed and stylish just like the rest of this couple’s home.
