This particular set of photos highlights storage within the shower via a niche, and a teak shower seat that can fold away when not needed. Based on the overall size of a walk in shower, we always place one on/off fixture at the entrance to the shower so the water can begin heating prior to entering. Another on/off fixture is placed at the typical location on the wall with the shower head.

These homeowners elected to eliminate their bathtub in favor of an enlarged walk-in shower. This particular project highlights storage within the shower via a niche, and a teak shower seat that can fold away when not needed. The low curb on the shower entry is easier to step over than climbing in a tub. Additionally, if necessary, a wheelchair could traverse the short curb with ease. The low curb and grab bar, along with the very stable seat, are indeed safety features. All of this while being beautifully appointed and stylish just like the rest of this couple’s home.
