Dated to Dreamy: A Stunning Brookdale Kitchen
Project Details
Categories:
Young homeowners returning to Naperville from the Mountain States chose a spacious 1988-built home in the Brookdale neighborhood on the city’s north side. To modernize and enhance functionality, they enlisted River Oak to transform the first-floor living space—reconfiguring walls to expand the kitchen, adding convenient garage-entry coat storage, and creating a spacious, luxurious laundry room with a pet station. Upstairs, the remodel introduced a stunning new primary bathroom. Additionally, all first-floor doors and flooring were replaced to create a cohesive, refreshed design.
The kitchen cabinetry was updated using our custom Amish line in Maple wood. The perimeter upper cabinets are painted white, and a two-toned range hood incorporates both the stained and painted wood. Storage was significantly increased with the new design. A spacious island replaced the previous peninsula, providing stool seating, additional drawer and cabinet storage, and a built-in microwave. Full floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinets were installed near the cooking area, maximizing organization. With the soffits removed, cabinetry now extends to the ceiling, further enhancing storage capacity.
