Multi-Generational Living in Warrenville

Project Details

Categories:

The owners have lived in the home for many years and added on to their space to make room for their interests, collections and loved ones. Now it was time to tackle the heart of the home, the kitchen. River Oak brought our expertise to create a space that is both beautiful and efficient in an existing footprint. This kitchen is a thoroughfare from one part of the house to another; adjacent to bedroom hallways and living spaces. The rest of the home has a vintage, hand-curated aesthetic incorporating art, travel pieces, and collections.

River Oak created sight lines from the front to the back of the home. We provided cabinetry that was replacing a few furniture pieces enlisted to assist with the growing occupancy of the home. Soffits were removed as well as an entire section of ceiling-mounted cabinetry separating two spaces that had drastically interfered with the natural light and sight lines of the space.

There are areas to display the homeowner’s collections, ample storage for groceries, and cooking tools for this large family. The cottage look remains with white cabinetry, a farmhouse sink, quartz counter tops and brick look backsplash and upgraded with all the luxuries of a complete kitchen renovation.
