Custom Amish cabinetry in painted maple wood now extends to the ceiling. The island is a warm grey paint with an artistic glaze. The counters are topped with Cambria Torquay on perimeter cabinetry and Cambria Berwyn on the island. The floor is a prefinished floor by Armstrong called Prime Harvest Oak in Oceanside Gray.

By moving the refrigerator from the sink wall, it allowed for extending the counter space and provides a lovely focal point for entertaining. The glass cabinets are a prairie style mullion door with glass shelves. Wine cubbies eliminate the need for a counter top wine rack. The enameled cast iron sink is an apron front design from Kohler in Thunder Grey.
Island
The rich warm grey tone of the island is enhanced by an artistic glazed finish. The island is home to storage, seating and a drawer style microwave.

The refrigerator's new location is amidst floor to ceiling storage cabinetry complete with roll out shelves and partitions. The steam oven to the right of the refrigerator is an additional cooking source for this kitchen.

The canopy hood in stainless steel complements the kitchen's style. Glass tile was installed to the ceiling for effect. The lower cabinetry is outfitted with roll out shelves for easy, efficient storage.

Big changes at this Downers Grove home! The remodel encompassed the kitchen, laundry, first floor powder room and master bathroom on the second level. We removed soffits, tile flooring and dated cabinetry.The homeowners opted for a bright, comfortable kitchen with more efficient storage and a breeze for entertaining.
