Maple Amish custom cabinetry finished in rich onyx paint envelopes the kitchen. The contrasting counters are a grey-veined, warm toned white quartz; a great product with perfect design attributes. The walnut island extension is a warm focal point tying the dark wood tones together throughout the space. Notice the white subway tile installed to the full nine foot ceiling height.

The brick structure enclosing the range was professionally painted to lend a different aesthetic to the space. Additional upgrades to the cooking area are the walnut mantelpiece and decorative tile back splash in the cooking alcove. The homeowners sourced the hand forged looking brackets for the mantelpiece to really bring the look together.

The home's ceilings are at nine feet, so seeing the subway tile above the cabinetry or open shelving is a nice finishing touch, especially once highlighted by accent lighting. There are many effective and useful nooks and crannies in this kitchen like the wet bar adjacent to the family room and the butler's pantry with open shelving just steps from the dining room.

This buffet makes entertaining a breeze. The X mullion glass doors allow us to see the detail of the walnut backed cabinets. Under cabinet lighting sets the stage for a perfect service area complete with abundant storage and a beverage refrigerator.

This large island is home to efficient storage, the dishwasher and the kitchen sink! You can see the wood floors which are a natural finish and matte polyurethane coating.

This home itself is grand but the kitchen lacked the style to match. The homeowners had a distinct design they were going for to a create a kitchen of their dreams, and one to far more match the aesthetic of their home. The footprint of the kitchen did not notably change, but was truly brought to a much higher level. A few design elements not to be missed are the combination of open and closed shelving, walnut backed cabinetry, glass inserts and the walnut wood accents in both the mantel and island.
