The custom valance was designed to complement the ventilation hood design over the cook top. The sink is Blanco Silgranit in their cinder finish. The black splash tile is polished marble in three tones to bring together all the finish colors in the kitchen.

This ample island is a contrasting finish to the white custom cabinetry in ash wood with a granite top. A complete office was designed into a much reduced space. The tower cabinet provides necessary storage. File cabinet and storage drawers are on the left bottom, and a rollout for a shredder and printer are on the right.

One of the many focal points of this kitchen is the custom ventilation hood bordered by two mullioned glass doors. The lower cabinets have two rollouts flanking the cooktop area; one to house spices and the other keep cooking utensils and oils easily at hand.

Who needs an eight feet by six foot pantry storage cabinet? Everybody! This design is complete with six stationary shelves and ten roll out shelves for maximum efficiency. And to the right you can see the bar/serving area which is located in the kitchen but adjacent to the dining room for entertaining ease.

The homeowners’ design goal was a more open floor plan. Originally the space had an L-shaped living/dining room, and separate kitchen open to the family room. They wanted to repurpose their living room into a generously sized dining room and expand the kitchen into the space that was their existing dining room. The result is a an excellent space for everyday living as well as hosting a houseful!
